"The Market" is a photographic exploration of urban markets in the towns and cities of the West Midlands of England, UK.

Many local markets are under threat from supermarket stores, the decline of the high-street and increasing online shopping. This project documents some of these markets and their place in the 21st century, from the daily life of these ancient, local traditions, many of which have existed for hundreds of years, to their struggle to survive in the modern world.
